At the Internationale Modellbahn Ausstellung (IMA) 2023 in Göppingen, I saw for the first time the semi-trailer (articulated lorry) featuring the BR 01 105 steam locomotive printed on its sides, parked in the courtyard of the Märklineum. I later learned that this trailer regularly travels between Märklin’s production facility in Győr, Hungary, and the final assembly plant in Göppingen, Germany.

From that moment, I hoped Märklin would eventually make this trailer available in H0 scale.

Last year, Märklin announced exactly that as a new release. Even better, they included a second trailer featuring the Swiss Crocodile electric locomotive. Both semi-trailers are carried on a double-pocket wagon of type Sdggmrss, numbered 31 80 4992 132-9. Today, I finally collected my pre-order, and it looks fantastic sitting on my desktop.

Apart from the annual International Modelrailroading Day wagon—which I continue to collect and now own the complete series to date—this will be my last Märklin H0-scale purchase.
