Updated on 08.01.24 to include Luxon Dome car from Minitrix (N-scale) 18429

Fancy a candlelight dinner for 2 or travelling with your private group with a panoramic view as you travel on most of the European rail network? Well, RailAdventure offers this opportunity with the LUXON panoramic dome car.

Rivarossi produced HO-scale (1:87) of this dome car and released them just before Christmas 2023 after a 2-year pre-order waiting period (I was lucky to order one in January)

The dome car was an ex-TEE (Trans Europ Express) car which passed through a few hands before being acquired by RailAdventure GmbH.

The overall finishing on my model looks great although the rivet-counters would complain about many things not right about this Rivarossi model. I am not particular about details as long as the model captures the overall look and feel of Luxon. Besides being pulled by my steam locos and RailAdventure tractions, this dome car will also be on display at Loewenherz railway park. I plan to scratch build 1-2 steps and platforms for visitors to climb on board.

Rivarossi HR4323 is not the first and only manufacturer to offer LUXON dome car. Others include Arnold (N) HN4377, Minitrix (N) 18429 and Tillig (TT) 16554.
