DBAG painted its second Class (Baureihe) 218 341-6 with the InterCity (IC) livery and I found this a perfect match for the InterCity coaches that I have purchased from Roco`/Piko. This is my second BR 218; the first being BR 218 497-6 DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung Cottbus in 2 liveries.

Both Roco and later Märklin announced their BR 218 341 models 2 months apart from each other. Since I already have the BR 218 497 Cottbus, I decided to purchase the Roco model instead.

The Roco model comes with Zimo sound decoder and overall, it is a well-constructed model.

As with my other rolling stock, I replaced the couplers with Hornby magnetic couplers.

I was expecting that Roco model will be lighter than Märklin’s since the latter is made from tin. But the weight test shows otherwise.
