I recently received a customised order for a colleague’s farewell gift. He worked at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung GmbH (DB FZI) and is also a HO-scale DCC model railway fan. So I proposed a Piko BR 218 497-6 in unique DB FZI Cottbus black (sream locomotitve) and white (ICE) livery (article no. Piko 57401). The model is a DCC version with sound. This special edition was produced by Piko in partnership with Märklin (Märklin produced the AC, DC (Z-scale and in Minitrix N-scale)
Getting the model was simple – ready-to-run BR 218 497-6.

The unique challenge was to make a special presentation plinth 250mm x 100mm for him, something that will commemorate his 17 years at Deutsche Bahn. He started his career at DB Netz Fahrwegdienst, which is responsible for the track infrastructure and his last as at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung. His last station is presented by the BR 218 497-6 DB FZI Cottbus model. His first is represented by the presentation plinth which consists of a weathered rail with concrete sleepers and some used rails and concrete sleepers on the side.

Now, I want a piece for myself too but with Märklin H0 AC BR 218 497-6 (article no. Märklin 39187)
